For Families
Threads provides clothing and other necessities for kids ages 0-18 who live in Roscommon and Crawford counties.
“I had a wonderful experience; I was unsure walking in but was warmly welcomed. I was so happy I started to cry because I had a wonderful experience. They did so much for my family and I am grateful they are around.”

If you find that you need help for the children in your home, please contact one of the following types of people who can refer you to Threads:
- Your child’s school social worker, counselor, or classroom teacher
- Your child’s preschool, Early HeadStart, or HeadStart teacher
- A DHHS caseworker who works with your family or your local DHHS office
“I love shopping at Threads! Not only are we able to get some things for the kids, (because we all know how quickly they grow hehe) but the Threads volunteers are amazing! As a stay-at-home mom I usually have to travel to Threads with my kids but Joyce always makes that super easy and treats my son so well!
“Threads has helped me and my family with diapers and hygiene products, but also with extra clothes for a growing toddler!”
Rebecca, mom of two
How it works:
- Threads receives your information from the agency that has referred you.
- Threads will contact you directly to schedule a shopping appointment.
- Arrive at your appointment and shop for the items needed by your child(ren).
- A Threads volunteer will help you find sizes and styles you need.
- You will use a checklist to keep track of the number of items you choose for each child.
- Our goal is to provide each child with at least 3 outfits in their current clothing size. The number of items and outfits depends on our current supply and donation levels.
“Threads has helped us so much with diapers and clothes in hard times.”
