The heart of our mission, Threads provides new and like-new donated clothing to help ensure that kids and teens are dressed for school and play, in styles they want to wear.

Threads accepts donations of new and like-new clothing. Our goal is to provide children with clean, current, and comfortable clothing to boost self-confidence and promote dignity.

How to Donate

Threads accepts donations via appointment only. Our goal is to provide children with clean, current, and comfortable clothing to help boost self-confidence and promote dignity.

Make an Appointment

  • Make an appointment to drop-off your donations when Threads volunteers are available.
  • Contact us if you need to change or cancel your appointment.

prepare your items

  • Please review our donation guidelines to see what types of items we can and/or cannot accept.
  • Wash and fold all clothing.
  • Match pajamas or clothing sets.
  • Double-check your items for any holes, stains, broken zippers, odors, pet fur, etc.
  • Place items in clean boxes or bags.

delivering your donation

  • Follow the instructions on your appointment confirmation email.
  • Please do not leave items outside, in the entryway, or when a volunteer is not present.
  • We are happy to provide you with a receipt upon your request!

By doing all of this, our volunteers are able to easily sort and organize and get clothing to kids more quickly. Please help save us the time and expense of having to dispose of unusable items.

While we appreciate donations, here are some items that we won’t be able to accept. Please help save us the time and expense of having to manage donations that we cannot use, so we can serve children more quickly.

  • Pet fur/hair
  • Odors (smoke, mold, pets, etc.)
  • Design or screen-printing with cracking or fading
  • Elastic stretched out
  • Zippers broken or buttons missing
  • Features a personal name, non-local school/team, vacation or souvenir shirts, shirts from camps or events
  • Negative designs/graphics/phrases (violence, weapons, alcohol or drug references, sexually suggestive, etc.)
